Head of Developer Relations - San Mateo, CA

Manticore Games is working in stealth mode on a unique and innovative form of AAA multiplayer gameplay, leveraging user-generated content and modding. We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader to build our developer and creator relations program. This is a hybrid role of developer relations, community management, and business development. You will be essential to building our community of successful and loyal developers. You will collaborate cross-functionally with our Product, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, and Finance teams to ensure the success of our developer community.

Responsibilities

  • Create, structure, lead all programs and initiatives related to the ecosystem and our community of creators
  • Design programs to identify, attract, and retain top game creators
  • Design and execute conversion programs to attract top modders and creators
  • Lead creator on-boarding and training programs
  • Drive the acquisition and engagement funnel among creators at scale through best-in-class use case documentation, creator education and content, compelling storytelling, community management, campaigns, and events
  • Grow & direct VIP management team for top creator talent
  • Develop KPIs to provide insights and intelligence in support of our creators and identify areas and opportunities for growth
  • Design programs, workflows, and systems to identify high impact creator feedback
  • Develop and maintain a methodology for communicating with the creator community (including surfacing updates)
  • Work as an advocate of the product within the creator community; act as an advocate of the creators within Manticore
  • Amalgamate and prioritize creator’s input to inform future internal development priorities
  • Help the creators to enhance their personal brand within Manticore and in the overall gaming community
  • Manage positioning and communications toward the creators community
  • Become a passionate representative to the creator community. Engaging and enabling the creator community to increase awareness, mindshare and adoption
  • Define and execute a plan for meetups, game-jams, and other events to evangelize

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in the field of developers marketing / platform evangelism / developer relations
  • Demonstrate effective leadership - people management experience is important
  • Proven experience in sourcing, managing, and growing relationships with developers and creators, and evangelizing technical platforms
  • Experience working for games or other entertainment platforms or services or third-party video-games publishers
  • A strong background and knowledge in gaming with a strong presence on social media and in key creator forums
  • Demonstrated success in building developer communities
  • Top-notch social and communication skills, and a highly proactive personality
  • Comfortable in communicating with technical audiences
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Game Production, Business, Marketing, or a related field
